Jussie Smollett caused a stir yesterday by suddenly announcing that he's leaving Empire after this week's episode, but there seems to be more to the story than we originally thought. Lil Wayne claims that Nicki Minaj and Drake are ready to leave Young Money because of Birdman. According to TMZ, Weezy has filed new documents attempting to oust Birdman from YM. Why? Because Wayne believes that Birdman and Cash Money Records have failed to manage artists correctly, primarily by not paying them adequately. Now, though, with both Lil Wayne and Nicki Minaj cozying up to Jay Z’s TIDAL, as well as Drake gearing up to release his new album through Apple Music, it appears all parties are looking for a new home.  Is this the beginning of the end for Young Money and Cash Money? Afeni Shakur Davis, mother of late rap legend Tupac Shakur, has died. Marin County Sheriff has confirmed that Shakur died late last night, notes NY Daily News. Deputies responded to a report of post cardiac arrest at 9:34PM last night at her home in Sausalito, California. She was transported to the hospital where she died 10:28PM Shakur was honored by 2Pac in the classic 1995 song “Dear Momma.” The philanthropist and businesswoman had been very involved in the forthcoming All Eyez On Me biopic about her son which is scheduled for release later this year. Danai Gurira, from the Walking Dead was reportedly playing Afeni in the film. She was 69 years old.

The sudden death of music icon Prince was a major blow to fans and celebrities worldwide. But perhaps few were more impacted than Dave Chappelle, whose iconic comedy sketch mimicking the flamboyant and eccentric musician has become a pop culture staple.At a standup performance in San Francisco, Chappelle was overcome with grief. “This is black 9/11,” he told the audience at his sold out show. “I almost thought about not coming tonight, but my band was like, ‘Yo, Prince would definitely not condone that.” The 4-hour show included Chappelle’s band playing several Prince covers, and Chappelle himself reminiscing on Prince’s legacy. Iman Crosson, known as Alphacat, is loved on the internet for his comical impressions of President Barack Obama.    Lamar Odom has opened his eyes and said something, sources told Eyewitness News.Odom, a former NBA player who grew up in Queens, is in a Las Vegas hospital after being found unconscious Tuesday in a Nevada brothel. Sources also said that Odom said "good morning," gave the doctors a thumb's up and he is breathing on his own. Odom, 35, was found at the Love Ranch in Crystal, where he had paid $75,000 for a four-day stay. The Love Ranch said Odom told at least one of the women when he arrived on Saturday that he had used cocaine earlier in the day.
